Our African Black Soap base is a natural melt and pour soap base made using Raw African Black Soap from Ghana. This base is made using raw Shea Butter and Coconut Oil, and is full of naturally derived minerals and antioxidants, renowned for their natural cleansing properties. This soap base has a dark and rich colour which is produced naturally during the handmade processing of the African Black Soap in Ghana

African Black Soap

Well now, this is the second review of this soap and I love it even more. The first lot of soap I made I used Ombre Leather as my fragrance and Velvet Peony and Oud for the ladies and everyone thought it was fantastic. Since then I have decided that since the soap is chemical free I was mad to put any fragrance in it so the next lot I made I just used it as it came. This time I used the microwave to melt the melt and pour soap and it worked much much better than melting it with a double boiler - it was much quicker and I took great care not to overheat it and in my words "a lot less of a clart on" This soap in particular feels so luxurious when using it and your skin feels like you have just covered it in the silkiest of lotions. You will not be disappointed with this soap. If you research Black African soap you will find out all the benefits to be had from it which Is why I really don't want to make any other soap.

This soap is very easy to work with once I discovered you can melt it in the microwave. I Tried the double boiler method but it took ages and and was terrified I would over heat the soap and found I got lots of air bubbles that would not come out with rubbing alcohol. I saw some videos on YouTube and they were melting the melt and pour in a microwavable jug and It looked a lot easier so I gave it a try and whoopie!!! it was 100 times easier and hardly any bubbles. It poured brilliantly into the moulds and just a little spray of rubbing alcohol and they were as shinny as glass and looked fantastic. 4 hours later I unmoulded them and they were absolutely perfect. Now down to the soap. I absolutely love it. It has such a luxurious feel to it that after the first time I used it I knew I would never use shower gel again. It does lather up but maybe not quite like some soaps but that won't bother you once you use it. I have heard soaps that contain a lot of Shea Butter don't so this is absolutely normal. The benefits the soap brings being one of the most chemical free soaps you can buy with the best ingredients going into making this soap what it is and so good for your skin means you are buying probably the best money can buy. I'm reluctant to try any of the other soaps in the Stephenson's melt and pour range as I really don't want to use anything else now.

Best soap I've ever used

I bought this soap after reading all the benefits and the quality of ingredients used. Prior to this I'd beed using Scrubed soap which is £15.00 a bar. I was not expecting this to be better when you consider the price difference but I was wrong, it is better and could never warrant buying Scrubed again. I only bought this soap as a trial but it's immediate the moment you use it that you wont want to use anything else. All my friends love it and want more for their other friends and family. I really can't recommend this soap enough.
