Dipropylene glycol with low odour is a high quality grade and with it's low toxicity and solvent properties makes it an ideal additive for perfumes and skin and hair care products

Perfumery Uses :

  • Making Reed Diffuser oils (see below for details)
  • Very good fragrance diluent and quencher.
  • Pot pourri, perfumes, room sprays, body sprays, oil burnersppppp

How to make your own DIFFUSER OIL:

  • 30% Fragrance oil
  • 60-65% DiPropylene glycol
  • 5-10% Perfumers alcohol

To make diffuser oil, blend the fragrance oil with the DPG until clear. Add Perfumers alcohol to reduce viscosity to desired thickness.

Plugin Diffuser Base

I can't get my plugins to have a good scent throw with this at all unless I put a good amount of perfumers alcohol in with it and more fragrance oil. Doing this throws the scent amazingly throughout the room but it goes quick after about 10 days. Made up as it is meant to be I get no fragrance release and it has took over 8 weeks to empty and in all that time you can not really smell any fragrance from it at all unless you put it under your nose.

Plugin diffuser base

You need this when refilling your plugins I buy the wicks that are advertised as car refill wicks off ebay for less than £5 for 50 and they are great for reusing the ambi pur single plugins and also the air wick ones. I personally find to get the good scent throw to fill your room I use a mixture of 40% Plugin Diffuser Base with 40% Perfumers Alcohol and 20% fragrance oil because if I use the recommended mix there is just a faint smell in the background that might as well not be there and this I think is because the recommended mixture it too thick and it needs more alcohol to evaporate better. I'm sure everyone will tweak the mixture to suit themselves but this is what works best for me.
